Sharon Trotter bio
Sharon has worked in leadership roles in online safety education and regulation for over 15 years. She most recently led the Australian Government eSafety Commissioner’s Education, Prevention and Inclusion team, overseeing the development and roll out of evidence-based
online safety education for communities at risk of online harm, and she has contributed on many levels to shaping Australia’s response to dealing with online harms.
Sharon is particularly interested in understanding how we ensure education and policy interventions work best to drive behaviour change, and promoting work across sectors to shape a better online environment.
Sharon is originally from Aotearoa New Zealand. She worked at the Office of Film and Literature Classification and in cultural policy and heritage, before making the move to Australia in the early 2000s.
