The Online Safety Exchange was established by Martin Cocker to support the people and organisations working to reduce and prevent online harm.

Having spent more than 15 years working at the forefront of online safety in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world, Martin knows that working in, or around, online safety can be extremely challenging. This is why he founded the Online Safety Exchange together with some of the best and brightest online safety brains from the USA and Australia.

Internet users are increasingly seeking and expecting instant support, guidance and protection regardless of what they are doing. The technology and regulatory environment is constantly changing. Resources for safety interventions are limited.

The stakes are extremely high. The (mis)use of information technologies can cause serious psychological, physical and financial harm.

Our approach is to work together to reduce harm. By sharing knowledge and experience and by connecting with online safety experts around the globe.

Whether you are working at an international or local level,  whether you work in the public or private sector, whether online safety is your primary function, or a secondary one… if you are teaching skills, providing tools and/or developing rules to educate, motivate, and empower people to mitigate harm online – then the Online Safety Exchange is here for you.
